The program, which began in October, is a partnership between the Municipality of Sabrosa and the Local Health Unit of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, with national coordination by the Directorate-General of Health. Sessions are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at the Mercado dos Produtos Durienses, in Paços-Sabrosa.
Participation is free, subject to referral by a family doctor or nurse from USF Bacelo or the Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro Hospital Center. In addition to physical exercise, the project includes health education actions to improve disease management and prevent complications.
This initiative, which runs until June 2027, aims to strengthen support for the local population, reducing cardiovascular risks associated with diabetes and promoting healthy lifestyles in the municipality.
