The event, part of the 40th-anniversary celebrations of the Aquae Flaviae Cultural Group, was "sold out" and attended by descendants of the two honored personalities. The monothematic edition recovers and values an artistic work that remained unknown to the general public.
The presentation of the collection and study of the archive, titled "Operetas em Chaves", was led by Maria Isabel Barros Morais da Costa. The publication introduces the artistic partnership responsible for creating 10 operetta librettos, which enlivened the cultural life of Chaves between the late 19th and mid-20th centuries, and were presented in various locations across the country.
The Mayor of Chaves, Nuno Vaz, highlighted the edition's contribution to valuing local history and identity, emphasizing the importance of preserving this memory and the work of the Aquae Flaviae Cultural Group over four decades.
Luís Barbosa, great-grandson of Maestro Pinto Ribeiro, and António Ribeiro Carvalho, great-nephew of General Ribeiro de Carvalho, shared biographies and personal stories. Part of the collection donated by Maestro Ferreira Lobo was also on display.
The publication also revisits the first composition of the Cultural Association's governing bodies, published in the magazine's inaugural issue in 1989, as part of the commemorations of the fifth centenary of the printing of "Sacramental" in Chaves.
