This initiative dedicated to the performing arts aims to provide diverse theatrical experiences, fostering encounters between companies, theater groups, and the community. The program includes comedy, drama, puppet theater, and musicals.
The cycle kicks off on Saturday, October 3rd, with the play “Cartas de Amor”. Throughout the month, other works will be presented, such as “Lá Famiglia e Outras...”, “Farsa de Inês Pereira”, “A Pior Aldeia de Portugal”, “Um Musical Muito Mauu”, “Frei Luís de Sousa”, “Assim É (Se Lhe Parece)”, “O Caminho do Burro”, “O Ano da Morte de Ricardo Reis”, and “Para Lá do Horizonte – O Musical!”.
The performances will take place at the Auditorium and Multipurpose Room of the Quarteirão Cultural de Chaves and at the Cineteatro Bento Martins. Some events will offer free admission, while others will have a ticket price of five euros, aiming for broad community participation.
The initiative involves local and guest theater companies and groups, highlighting the diversity of theater through different languages and artistic expressions. It is promoted by the Municipality of Chaves in partnership with INDIEROR, Teatro Experimental Flaviense, Grupo de Teatro PFA do Agrupamento de Escolas Júlio Martins, ETCetera Associação Artística, Teatro Fórum Boticas, Historioscópio – Teatro de Marionetas, and Cosquinhas – Associação Académica e Cultural de Ermesinde.
Through this initiative, the Municipality of Chaves reinforces its commitment to cultural dynamism and the valorization of performing arts, offering the public a month dedicated to theater, creativity, and encounters with different stories and scenic universes.
