The distinction recognizes the work developed in integrating the gender perspective into municipal policies and in promoting equality and non-discrimination. The award ceremony took place on October 26th, at the Casa da Música in Porto, where the Vice-President of the Municipal Council, Isabel Torres, received the award on behalf of the municipality.
In this edition, 57 local authorities (56 Municipal Councils and one Parish Council) were distinguished for their work in promoting gender equality, citizenship, and non-discrimination, both internally and within their territories.
The «Living in Equality» Prize, promoted by the CIG, aims to recognize and distinguish local authorities with good practices in integrating gender equality into their policies, contributing to more inclusive and just communities.
