The Cultural Association of the People of Távora organized the VIII Solidarity Walk Against Breast Cancer, an event that gathered several dozen people for a common cause. The initiative, which included 10km and 5km routes, aimed at raising awareness, prevention, and early diagnosis of breast cancer.
Councilwoman Angélica Costa accompanied the activity and highlighted the importance of awareness about the disease. The proceeds from the walk were fully donated to the Portuguese League Against Cancer, fostering an atmosphere of closeness and community.
This month marks “Pink October”, dedicated to emphasizing the importance of breast health and risk factors. The Municipality joined this cause by illuminating the Centenary Bridge in pink, symbolizing the significance of regular screening tests.
