The Intermunicipal Community of Alto Minho (CIM Alto Minho) celebrates today, October 15th, 18 years of activity, a milestone marked by strengthened cooperation among its ten municipalities, investment mobilization, and the promotion of joint regional development strategies.
Throughout this journey, CIM Alto Minho has established itself as a platform for joint work, playing a significant role in enhancing the region's resources, attracting European funds, implementing intermunicipal projects, and strengthening cross-border cooperation with Galicia. Its actions in areas such as mobility, culture, tourism, innovation, social and economic development, environmental sustainability, and civil protection have been crucial in addressing common challenges and creating new opportunities for the region.
More recently, CIM has taken on new responsibilities, notably as the Transport Authority, and began managing the Territorial Development and Cohesion Contract, which mobilizes approximately 128 million euros for the territory.
With 18 years of history, CIM Alto Minho aims to further deepen its network work, promote coordination among municipalities, and develop joint responses to regional challenges, fostering a more cohesive and competitive territory with better development opportunities and quality of life for its populations.
