The future Renewable Energy Community (REC) in Sines took another step forward with a session held for Park clients, where the status, business model, and statutes were presented.

The future Renewable Energy Community (REC) in Sines moved forward with the holding, on September 29, at the Sines Industrial and Logistics Zone (ZILS), of the second session with Park clients. The meeting served to present the status and business model of the future REC, detailed by Orlando Paraíba, from ENA – Arrábida Energy and Environment Agency. The proposal for Statutes and Internal Regulations was also presented by Teresa Pato Ribeiro, from the Legal Department of aicep Global Parques. The interest of clients who did not participate in the first session in joining the future community was also gauged.
The event included welcome remarks from Miguel Borralho, Director of ZILS, and featured a round table with representatives from DGEG, ADENE, and E-REDES. The discussion focused on clarifying legal requirements, responsibilities, potential constraints, and deadlines associated with the establishment and operation of the REC.
This initiative is part of the European project WESHARE, co-financed by the European Union's LIFE Programme. Sines is one of the project's pilot sites, alongside Antwerp (Belgium) and Getafe (Spain). The project promotes energy sharing among companies, contributing to greater energy efficiency, cost reduction, and enhanced energy security.
