With an indicative budget of 300,000 euros, funded 100% by the Just Transition Fund (FTJ), this notice aims to promote the acquisition and strengthening of skills that facilitate employability, professional retraining, and the adaptation of workers to the challenges of the energy transition and the economic transformation of the territory.
Eligible actions include certified training that leads to the acquisition or enhancement of school and professional qualifications, such as higher education courses, vocational training provided by entities certified by DGERT, and other training offered by legally authorized entities. The notice also supports participation in professional and school certification processes.
Supported training should prioritize areas with growth potential in the Alentejo Litoral region, particularly those related to renewable energy, the maritime economy, the agri-food sector, tourism, and construction, in line with the Regional Smart Specialization Strategy (RIS3 Alentejo).
Only former workers of the Sines Thermoelectric Power Plant who were made redundant due to the facility's closure are eligible to apply, regardless of their employment status at the start of the training.
The initiative is part of the Territorial Plan for a Just Transition in Alentejo Litoral, aiming to minimize the social and labor impacts arising from the closure of the Sines Thermoelectric Power Plant and to support the development of new skills aligned with emerging opportunities in the region.
The application period runs until February 26, 2027, on a continuous basis.
