The amount was raised during a special edition of the Seixal Motard Solidário event, organized this year solely by the Seixal Motoclub. According to Faísca, a representative of the Seixal Motoclub, the initiative aims to recognize the fundamental role of firefighters, who face economic difficulties exacerbated by rising fuel costs.
The leadership of both Humanitarian Associations described the donation as a "breath of fresh air" amidst the sector's increased financial demands, particularly state fund transfer delays and rising daily operational costs.
Present at the check handover ceremony were, in addition to the respective leadership of the Amora and Seixal Fire Brigades, the president of the Junta de Freguesia of Amora, Nelson Ramos, and Vogal Cláudia Reis.
