The Seixal Municipal Council welcomed the municipality's educational community in an event that gathered teachers, non-teaching staff, and parent representatives at the Pavilhão Municipal Cidade de Amora.

The initiative, held on October 16th, served to honor education professionals and reaffirm the municipality's commitment to public schools. The Municipal Education Plan for the 2026-2027 academic year was presented, marking the 50th anniversary of Democratic Local Power under the theme Participate to Transform, with a focus on initiatives about the history of Local Power, the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic, and the evolution of the Seixal municipality since 1976.
The President of the Seixal Municipal Council, Paulo Silva, highlighted the increase in educational establishments in the municipality, from two before April 25th to over 50 currently, emphasizing access to education as a right. He also mentioned an investment of approximately 30 million euros in the renovation and construction of new primary cycle schools and kindergartens.
Paulo Silva reinforced the need to value education professionals and warned about the situation of non-teaching staff, aggravated by the transfer of responsibilities without corresponding funding, representing a debt from the Government to the Municipality of Seixal of around 16 million euros.
The event concluded with a moment of conviviality and entertainment, featuring performances by the band Som de Mais and DJ Tarik Chand.
