Palmela Desporto participated in the XIX Templars Crossing, an emblematic event of the national open water circuit, which gathered around three hundred participants. The team was represented by Sara Alves, Rafael Lopes, Dinis Cabral, Miguel Medronheira, Jorge Paiva, Tiago Neves, Dinis Neves, and Matilde Barreiros.
In the main five-kilometer race, junior athlete Dinis Cabral excelled with an outstanding performance, winning the 14-17 age group and securing second place overall with a time of 1h01’46’’2. Master athlete Tiago Neves achieved second place in the C/D category. Sara Alves, Rafael Lopes, and Matilde Barreiros finished their respective races in fourth place within their age groups.
In the National Open Water Circuit standings, after the penultimate stage, Palmela Desporto has several athletes in podium positions. Sara Alves leads the 18/19 category, Miguel Medronheira the 16/17 category, and Dinis Cabral the 14/15 category. Rafael Lopes holds third place in the 20+ category, and in the masters, José Pereira is third in the G category, with Jorge Paiva in fourth in the D category.
The team currently holds second place in the overall team standings with 1010 points. Palmela Desporto and the Municipality of Palmela congratulated all athletes and the technical team for their participation and achievements.
