The initiative, which took place at the Cineteatro Municipal João Mota, featured representation from the municipality by the head of the Municipal Unit for Health and Active Aging, Ana Fina. The councilwoman of the Municipality of Montijo, Céu Simões, participated in the Intermunicipal Assembly of the Network.
The Forum promoted reflection and debate on the protection, rights, and challenges associated with physical, cognitive, and social aging, serving as an opportunity to share experiences and deepen knowledge on policies for healthier and more inclusive communities.
During the meeting, the Activity Plan and Budget for 2027 of the Portuguese Network of Healthy Municipalities were approved. The following day, October 30th, Montijo's Municipal Program for Active Aging was presented at the Network's Technical Group.
Montijo's participation in these events reinforces the municipal commitment to promoting the health, well-being, and quality of life of the population, valuing active aging and recognizing the role of local policies.
