The Polytechnic University of Setúbal (UNIPS) announced today that it has admitted 294 new students in the 2nd phase of the National Higher Education Access Competition (CNA). With this result, 21 out of 28 degree programs with placements in this phase have reached full capacity. In total, UNIPS has now placed 1,259 students via CNA, achieving an 89% occupancy rate.
Two of its higher education schools, Education and Health, have reported full occupancy of their available places. The remaining schools show occupancy rates ranging from 71% to 99%.
The rector of UNIPS, Ângela Lemos, stated that these results “confirm our ability to continue attracting students and affirm the relevance of our educational offerings, in a particularly demanding year for Higher Education.” She also highlighted that the number of candidates who chose UNIPS as their first choice in the two completed phases of the CNA exceeded the available places, which is “an important indicator of the trust placed in our institution.”
In the 1st phase of the CNA, 965 candidates were placed, of whom 873 completed their registration, corresponding to a 90.47% enrollment rate, an increase of 2.65 percentage points compared to the previous year.
Ângela Lemos emphasized that the CNA is just one of the entry routes to UNIPS, alongside local competitions for degree programs (Over 23s, Professional Pathways, Holders of Higher Education Courses, Holders of CTeSP and CET, and International Students), as well as the offerings of CTeSP, Post-Graduate courses, and Master's degrees, which reinforce the diversity of students seeking the institution.
The enrollment process for students newly admitted to UNIPS takes place online between October 1st and 3rd.
