SIMARSUL participated, on October 22nd, in a workshop on the assessment and management of risks associated with Water for Reuse (ApR), as part of the TARGET project, held in Barreiro.

The meeting, held at the Casa da Cidadania Cabós Gonçalves, aimed to enhance knowledge and promote discussion on the topic of water reuse. Legal and regulatory frameworks, assessment and monitoring methodologies, risk management plans, and case studies were addressed, integrating human health, environmental, and soil dimensions.
SIMARSUL's participation also included the presentation «The perspective of an ApR producer», by José Pacheco. The session further fostered the sharing of experiences and the identification of challenges and opportunities for the safe implementation of water reuse in municipalities.
SIMARSUL is an associated partner of the TARGET project (TerritoriAl stRateGy for watEr scarcity). This project's main objective is to develop planning models for the sustainable management of water resources and the prevention of crisis situations related to water scarcity.
Among the expected outcomes are territorial planning strategies for sustainable water resource management and scarcity prevention. A pilot action is also planned, focusing on the local strategic planning model and the strategic planning model at the river basin scale.
