The initiative, part of the curricular unit Products and Services of Surfing, taught by lecturer Daniela Amorim, featured the participation of João Lourenço, representative of Baleal Surf Ranch | Baleal Surf School Camp Peniche, and Nuno Santos, representative of Ocean Adventures, from São Martinho do Porto.
The guests shared their professional and business journeys, presenting projects, experiences, and real sector challenges. Students had the opportunity to learn about different business models related to surfing, understand the challenges of managing surfing services and activities, and identify innovation opportunities in a constantly evolving market.
The session also allowed for reflection on the importance of sustainability, service differentiation, and adaptation to new trends in active tourism and nature sports, areas of increasing relevance for the sector's development.
This Open Class provided an opportunity to bring students closer to professional reality, strengthening the link between academic training and future intervention contexts, in a sector where initiative, creativity, and entrepreneurial capacity are increasingly important.
The ESDRM thanks the guests for their availability and for sharing their experiences, which contributed to enriching the students' training.
