The Cartaxo Municipal Council, through the CLDS 5G Cartaxo para Tod@s project, held a Parental Skills Session in Pontével, focusing on parents and caregivers of children aged 6 months to 3 years.

The initiative, part of the Family Academy +, took place on October 9th at the Pontével Parish Social Welfare Center. The chosen theme, 'SOS Parents: Babies, tantrums, and screens,' aimed to address crucial issues for child development and family dynamics.
The session sought to foster understanding of babies' and children's needs, offer strategies for managing tantrums, and provide guidance on the appropriate use of screens. The objective was to encourage reflection on daily family challenges and the importance of conscious educational practices, adapted to each stage of development.
The session was led by Elisabete Dias, a specialist nurse in Mental Health Nursing, Joana Magalhães, a student in the Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing Specialty, and Mariana Ferreira, an occupational therapist. The professionals shared knowledge and support strategies for families.
The CLDS 5G Cartaxo para Tod@s program is co-financed by the European Union, under the Thematic Program Demography, Qualifications, and Inclusion (PESSOAS2030), through the operation type Local Social Development Contracts (CLDS).
