The Government approved, in a Council of Ministers meeting, a total investment of approximately 420 million euros for the extension of the Porto Metro to the center of Gondomar and Trofa. For Trofa, the route will include a dedicated metroBus lane.
The Dragão-Souto connection in Gondomar foresees an investment of 237 million euros. The ISMAI-Muro-Trofa axis will receive 184 million euros. Funding will be secured by the Environmental Fund and the Sustainable 2030 program.
The new line to Gondomar will extend over seven kilometers, featuring nine new stations: São Roque, Cerco, Lagarteiro, Lagoa, Valbom, Hospital Fernando Pessoa, Cosme Ferreira Castro, Oliveira Martins, and Souto.
The expansion of the Green Line (C) to Trofa will cover 10 kilometers and include seven stations. Two will be Metro stations (Ribela and Muro) and five will be metroBus stations (Serra, Bougado, Pateiras, Trofa Sul, and Paradela).
This week also saw the conclusion of the public consultation for the Environmental Impact Study (EIA) related to the Gondomar (II) Line. The consultation for the Trofa Line project remains available until October 12th on the Participa portal.
