The cycle “Caminho(s) de Santiago em Gondomar” (Pilgrimage Routes of Santiago in Gondomar) began this Saturday, October 31st, aiming to introduce the Jacobean tradition and its connection to the Gondomar territory.

The initiative, driven by AMUT – Associação Mutualista de Gondomar with the support of the Municipality, held its first session at the Solar da Bandeirinha in Melres. Under the motto “Ultreia, Suseia! Bom caminho!”, the event included an interpretive walk allowing participants to explore local heritage.
The conference featured Manuel Araújo, a historian and pilgrim of the Routes of Santiago, who discussed the origins and key symbols of this centuries-old tradition.
This cycle of conferences and walks will continue until July 2027, featuring a total of nine thematic conferences and nine walking stages. The program aims to explore different dimensions of the pilgrimage, combining walks, conferences, and testimonials to discover new routes and share experiences.
