The Gondomar Aqua Exercise Congress 2026, an international event focused on aquatic exercise, physiotherapy, and pool management, began this Friday, October 23rd, in Gondomar.

The event, running until Sunday, October 25th, brings together professionals and specialists to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices under the motto “Think. Inspire. Transform.”. The opening session took place at the Rio Tinto Amália Rodrigues Cultural Center, attended by the Councillor for Health and Sport, José Fernando Moreira.
The congress, held at the Gondomar Multipurpose Pavilion and the Valbom Municipal Pools, offers three days of training, reflection, and knowledge sharing through lectures and thematic sessions focused on the challenges and opportunities of aquatic exercise.
The program is divided into three thematic areas: on the 23rd, pool management, focusing on energy efficiency and management models; on the 24th, aquatic physiotherapy, covering manual therapy, preparation for childbirth, and postpartum recovery; and on the 25th, creative swimming, dedicated to innovative approaches to teaching and practicing swimming.
Throughout the three days, the Congress Aqua Exercise 2026 provides an opportunity to deepen knowledge, foster connections among professionals, and follow the evolution of practices related to aquatic exercise, health, and sports facility management.
Hosting this event in Gondomar reinforces the municipality's capacity to welcome international initiatives, promoting knowledge sharing and the appreciation of physical activity and sport.
