LIPOR, a waste management entity, hosted a delegation from South Korea on October 16th. The delegation included 23 senior officials from the Institute of Local Administration Officials Development (LOGODI), a training institute under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety of the Republic of Korea.
The visitors are seeking strategies and practical examples in Europe to achieve carbon neutrality, aiming for a more sustainable future. They expressed particular interest in municipal carbon neutrality actions, energy transition initiatives, citizen-driven emission reduction efforts, and approaches integrating energy well-being and social equity policies.
During the visit, LIPOR presented its Integrated Sustainable Waste Management System and the sustainability initiative Strategy 4M — Less Waste, Less Carbon, More Climate, More Biodiversity, focused on environmental and climate goals for 2030.
This visit comes amid a growing international demand for local decarbonization solutions, with LIPOR positioning itself as a benchmark example in the integration of waste management, energy transition, and climate action.
