The IPO Porto has renewed its international accreditation and ISO 9001 quality certification, valid until October 2028.

The renewal covers all services of the Portuguese Oncology Institute and includes the ISO 9001 certifications for the Cancer Reference Centers for Esophageal Cancer, Hepatobiliary Cancer, Rectal Cancer, Testicular Cancer, Soft Tissue and Bone Sarcomas, and Pediatric Oncology, for a period of three years.
CHKS, an independent accrediting body specializing in the evaluation of healthcare organizations, bases its assessments on international quality standards and best industry practices.
IPO Porto's relationship with this international benchmark dates back to August 2004, when the institution obtained full accreditation from the Health Quality Service (HQS), the predecessor to the current CHKS. In 2008, the institution also achieved ISO 9001 certification.
This recognition, aligned with the institutional strategy of continuous improvement, reflects IPO Porto's commitment to quality, patient safety, and excellence in care, built upon the daily work of its professionals and the consolidation of practices that promote process and service enhancement.
