The official ceremony for the handover of contracts and keys took place at the D. António Ferreira Gomes Development, in the parish of Serzedo, and was attended by the Mayor, Luís Filipe Menezes. The homes cover a wide range of municipal developments distributed throughout the territory, including units in the Cavaco (São Pedro da Afurada), Rosa Mota (Canelas), Padre Américo (Canelas), Dr. Barbosa de Melo (Canidelo), Eng. Adelino Amaro da Costa (Olival), Perosinho, and D. António Ferreira Gomes (Serzedo) developments.
The Executive acknowledges the persistent challenges in the housing sector and states that responding to the Municipality's needs requires a phased and rigorous effort. The focus remains on continuing ongoing interventions, working to increase available solutions and progressively reach more families.
The requalification of these units is part of the strategy to enhance the public housing stock, aiming to ensure adequate conditions of comfort, safety, and dignity for citizens. With this intervention, the Municipality reaffirms housing and social cohesion as priority and structuring axes of its policy.
