Between September 14th and 19th, the municipality of Sousel hosted various initiatives to mark the library's anniversary. The celebrations featured reading sessions, a yoga class combined with a sunset reading, and the creation of a participatory mural as part of the RIBAA – Alto Alentejo Libraries Network program. Additionally, a reading session followed by an artistic workshop took place, and the best readers were awarded in several categories: children, youth, adult, senior, and digital.
During the commemorative week, the Municipal Library hosted the Social Book Fair. In this solidarity initiative, visitors could purchase a book in exchange for a food item, with proceeds benefiting the Social Store. This action once again highlighted the solidarity of the municipality and its visitors.
The week of celebrations, which brought together different age groups for moments of conviviality, leisure, and learning, concluded with the traditional singing of happy birthday to the library. The Dr. António Garção Municipal Library (BMAG) thus celebrated another year dedicated to promoting reading and cultural inclusion.
