The Monforte Municipal Library was the venue, on October 22nd, for the last working meeting of the Intermunicipal Network of Libraries of Alto Alentejo (RIBAA), which brings together the public libraries of the 15 municipalities within the Intermunicipal Community of Alto Alentejo (CIMAA).

The meeting was attended by technical representatives from the libraries, the CIMAA, and, via videoconference, the Directorate-General for Books, Archives and Libraries (DGLAB). Participants also had the opportunity to meet the team of the Monforte Municipal Library.
Accompanied by Vitória Medalhas, RIBAA sub-coordinator and librarian of the host municipality, the Mayor of Monforte, Miguel Rasquinho, welcomed all attendees. In his statements, he emphasized the crucial importance of network work for the region's cultural cohesion and development, highlighting the role of libraries as open spaces for proximity and sharing of experiences.
The meeting was led by Ana Lucas, RIBAA coordinator and librarian of the Municipality of Gavião, together with Vitória Medalhas. The agenda included points focused on aligning common strategies, notably the implementation of new document management software, considered fundamental for streamlining access and optimizing collection organization.
RIBAA thus continues its mission in promoting books, reading, and literacy, valuing the continuous sharing of resources and the development of joint projects among the region's municipalities.
