Participating newly graduated doctors highlighted the quality of the experience, the proximity of the health teams, and the deep knowledge gained about the Alto Alentejo territory. Over three days, participants visited Health Centers, interacted with multidisciplinary professionals and teams, and discovered elements that make the region a distinct place to live and work.
The initiative demonstrated that choosing a place to practice Medicine also involves choosing a community, a quality of life, and a future project. ULS Alto Alentejo thanked the doctors for their involvement, whose interest and testimonials reinforce the conviction that direct contact with people and the territory is crucial for promoting the retention of health professionals in the region.
Special recognition was extended to the Municipalities of Gavião and Ponte de Sor, their teams, and local partners, for the exemplary welcome and the way they showcased the identity, resources, and potential of these councils.
More than an institutional visit, it was a territorial immersion experience that allowed for creating connections, sharing knowledge, and demonstrating, in practice, what makes Alto Alentejo a unique place to live, work, and care.
