The Sintra City Council has launched the initiative “Entre páginas e afetos: Rede de Leitura para Centros de Dia” (Between pages and affections: Reading Network for Day Centers), a program aimed at bringing reading and culture closer to the municipality's senior population.

The project is intended for Day Center users and allows for the borrowing of books and other materials from the Sintra municipal libraries. The goal is to stimulate active aging, cognitive ability, and the well-being of the elderly, promoting moments of sharing and contact with reading.
Through this initiative, the Municipality of Sintra reaffirms its commitment to social inclusion and access to culture. Reading is seen as an essential tool for improving the quality of life for seniors, helping to prevent loneliness and social isolation.
Day Centers interested in participating in this program should contact one of the following Municipal Libraries: Sintra Municipal Library, Agualva-Cacém Municipal Library, Tapada das Mercês Municipal Library, or Queluz Municipal Library.
