Breast cancer screening continues in Olival, Sintra. The Mobile Unit of the Portuguese League Against Cancer (LPCC), Southern Regional Nucleus, is available for examinations. The initiative is supported by the Family Health teams of USF Flor de Lótus and UCSO Olival.
This campaign is aimed at women residing in Sintra, aged between 45 and 74 years, who have received the respective invitation and meet the following criteria: no breast symptoms, no breast implants, no history of mastectomy, never had breast cancer, and not currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
The LPCC Mobile Unit travels to various parishes and primary healthcare units of ULS Amadora/Sintra, ensuring easy access to screening for all eligible users. Professionals from ULS Amadora/Sintra collaborate with LPCC and the Municipality of Sintra to ensure no woman is left behind.
Family health teams play a crucial role in identifying, inviting, and supporting eligible users, ensuring the quality and proximity of the screening process, from mammography to referral if necessary.
