Quinta das Palmeiras will be integrated into the Limited Duration Parking Zones (ZEDL) of the municipality of Oeiras starting September 29, 2026. The measure aims to promote a more balanced use of available parking, increase spot rotation, and reduce abusive parking.
The 'taxa castanha' will apply to parking spots within the ZEDL on the following streets: Avenida Dom José I, Rua Florbela Espanca, Rua José Régio, Rua Jorge Sena, Rua da Quinta das Palmeiras, Praceta Almeida Garrett, Rua Gil Vicente, Rua Carlos Mardel, Rua Eugénio Santos, Rua Sá de Miranda, Rua António Aleixo, Rua Antero de Quental, Passeio Vitorino Nemésio, and Passeio Augusto Abelaira. Users should consult the local signage for specific parking conditions.
Residents with addresses covered by the new ZEDL can apply for the Resident's Permit, which allows parking in the respective zone without time limits and without paying the meter, according to applicable conditions. Applications can be made online via the Parques Tejo website or in person. Required documents include proof of fiscal address and a copy of the Vehicle Registration Document. The permit is valid for one year and costs from 6 euros.
Parking payment in ZEDL zones can be made through parking meters, electronic cards, or payment applications. Drivers using the affected spots must comply with the indicated rules and pay the corresponding tariff when applicable.
The implementation of the ZEDL seeks to address parking pressure and promote greater spot rotation, while also establishing specific conditions for residents through the Resident's Permit and setting clearer rules for public street parking.
