A new non-formal education project, promoted by the Youth 4 Change association in partnership with the Union of Freguesias of Massamá and Monte Abraão, already has 120 classes registered in the freguesia's schools.

The initiative kicked off this October, with the first sessions taking place at the EB 2,3 Ruy Belo School. Throughout the 2026/27 academic year, the project aims to bring learning closer to the daily challenges faced by children and young people.
Targeted at students from the 1st to 12th grade of the freguesia's school clusters, the program complements the school curriculum with sessions on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in daily life, financial literacy and entrepreneurship, hate speech and digital violence, responsible use of artificial intelligence, interpersonal violence with a focus on dating, participation and European institutions, and substance dependency and behavioral situations.
Each school chooses the themes to work on for each school year, considering the needs and reality of its students. The objectives of this partnership are to promote informed choices, stimulate critical thinking, and encourage community participation, integrating citizenship education into the daily school life.
