The 3rd edition of the Lisbon, Culture and Media Program was launched at an event held at the Julião Sarmento Pavilion. The session was chaired by Gonçalo Reis, Vice-President of the Lisbon City Council, who highlighted the program's importance in stimulating new informative content of interest to the city. "We want a city with a good media content industry, with good journalism. This third edition is particularly relevant because we need structured programs that are consistent over time, predictable, and therefore, it is relevant that the program is truly consolidated," he stated.
Pedro Moreira, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lisboa Cultura – EGEAC, emphasized the program's strategic relevance and its contribution to ensuring cultural journalism continues to have a space. "A culturally vibrant city is not just a city that creates and presents culture; it is also a city that talks about culture, thinks about culture, questions it, and knows how to tell its stories," he noted.
The event also included interventions by Pedro Boucherie Mendes, President of the Jury, and by authors of projects awarded in previous editions, who shared their work developed within the initiative. The jury for this 3rd edition was also presented, comprising Pedro Boucherie Mendes, Isabel Capeloa Gil, Carlos Vaz Marques, and Rosália Amorim.
Established in 2024, the program has supported 40 projects across two previous editions, with a total investment of 400,000 euros, and reinforces Lisboa Cultura – EGEAC's commitment to creating and disseminating journalistic content that intersects culture with the city of Lisbon.
Applications for this 3rd edition are open until 3:59 PM on December 15, 2026.
