The Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (ISEL) hosted a delegation from Macau on October 13, 2026, to strengthen academic, scientific, and technological cooperation.

The Macau delegation comprised representatives from the Macau Qualified Personnel Development Commission (CDQQ), the Guangdong and Macau In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, and several higher education institutions, including the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), Macao Polytechnic University (MPU), Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), and the University of Macau.
During the meeting, opportunities for student, faculty, and researcher mobility were discussed, including exchange programs, advanced training initiatives, and mechanisms for bridging higher education institutions and the job market. The role of the CDQQ in qualifying professionals in strategic areas and fostering conditions for attracting specialized talent was also debated.
In the research domain, scientific and technological areas of common interest were identified, with potential for developing joint applied research projects, knowledge and technology transfer, and collaboration between higher education institutions and companies. Opportunities for cooperation with entities based in Macau and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, one of Asia's most dynamic economic and technological regions, were also analyzed.
This visit provided an opportunity to strengthen institutional dialogue between ISEL and the represented entities, promoting the identification of future collaboration areas and opening new perspectives for joint initiatives in academic, scientific, technological, and talent development fields.
