The Douro Intermunicipal Community (CIM Douro) will be present in Lisbon on October 13th, to honor excellence in the world of wine and hospitality. CIM Douro is partnering with the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale (ASI) as co-organizer and main sponsor of the gala dinner for the ASI Gérard Basset Lifetime Achievement Award, held during the 2026 Best Sommelier of the World Competition.
This award, presented only every four years, distinguishes a lifetime dedicated to wine, sommellerie, and hospitality. The initiative aims to recognize the knowledge, excellence, and generosity of professionals who excel in the art of receiving.
With the heritage of the Alto Douro Vinhateiro, classified by UNESCO, and the strength of its 19 municipalities, Douro reaffirms its identity and the importance of hospitality as a way of territorial affirmation internationally.
