Albert Arenas's (AS BLU CRU Racing Team) debut season in WorldSSP has been remarkable, with 16 podiums in 20 races. The Spanish rider leads the riders' championship by 86 points over Valentin Debise (EASTROC ZXMOTO Factory Evan Bros Racing). A win or a podium in Race 1, depending on Debise's results, could seal the title for Arenas. The Estoril circuit is a venue where Arenas has previously achieved success, including a Race 1 victory last season.
The AS BLU CRU Racing team is also well-positioned to win the teams' title, needing to lose fewer than 29 points to ZXMOTO in Race 1. In the Constructors' Championship, Yamaha holds a significant advantage over Ducati, with the title potentially being decided in this race.
The battle for third place in the riders' championship is heating up. Can Oncu (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing), who dropped to fourth in the standings after the Cremona round, aims to regain ground against Jaume Masia (Orelac Racing VerdNatura). Tom Booth-Amos (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) is also in contention for third place, having recently returned to the podium.
Jeremy Alcoba (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team) climbed to sixth in the overall standings after a dominant performance in Cremona, where he secured his first pole position and victory. He is just four points behind Roberto Garcia (GMT94 Yamaha), who had a challenging weekend in Italy. Philipp Oettl (Feel Racing WorldSSP Team) returned to the top 10 and has a strong track record at Estoril.
The fight for ninth position in the overall standings promises to be intense between Matteo Ferrari (WRP Racing) and Aldi Mahendra (AS BLU CRU Racing Team). Alessandro Zaccone (Ecosantagata Althea Racing Team) and Filippo Farioli (VFT Racing) will also be looking to improve their top 10 positions.
Riccardo Rossi (Cerba Yamaha Racing Team) awaits medical clearance to compete at Estoril. Should he be deemed fit, he will join the wildcard rider Gonçalo Capote, who competes in the FIM Stock European Championship.
