The Rector of Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Paulo Pereira, described the new campus as an extension of the laboratory, highlighting its potential for training, research, aeronautical operations, and business activities. The degree program represents a significant step in strengthening the country's scientific and technological capabilities.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the President of Cascais Municipal Council, Nuno Piteira Lopes, and representatives from institutions such as Indra/Deimos and ANAC. The initiative aims to establish a new academic hub with an impact on the region and the nation's technological capacity.
The degree program commenced this academic year with 30 places, all filled in the first phase of higher education admission. Students will have access to laboratories, a wind tunnel, and the Cascais Airport infrastructure from their first year, complementing their education with professional experience through curricular internships.
The Rector also announced a partnership with the University of Cranfield in the United Kingdom, which will allow master's students to complete their second year at that institution and obtain a double degree, enhancing the project's international dimension.
