The Paços do Concelho building in Amadora will be lit pink on October 30th, marking National Breast Cancer Prevention Day and reinforcing the municipality's commitment to the cause.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the "Outubro Rosa" campaign, promoted by the Portuguese League Against Cancer (LPCC), is part of a global movement focused on informing about the importance of a healthy lifestyle for prevention and early detection, which is crucial for increasing cure rates.
The Amadora Municipal Council has demonstrated an active role in this awareness and prevention effort, associating itself with Breast Cancer Screening in the municipality. This initiative is promoted by the Portuguese League Against Cancer - Southern Regional Nucleus (LPCC-NRS), in partnership with the National Health Service (SNS).
Between February 9th and June 5th of this year, the LPCC Mobile Unit conducted screenings in various parts of the municipality, including Venda Nova, Águas Livres, and São Brás.
By renewing its participation in the "Outubro Rosa" campaign, the local authority reaffirms its commitment to promoting the health and well-being of the population, highlighting the importance of information, prevention, and participation in screening programs.
