On September 21st, at 7 PM, the Noble Hall of the Peniche Municipal Chamber hosted the results presentation ceremony for the 2017 Participatory Budget. The event was attended by the proponents of the winning projects.
The Participatory Budget is a tool for enhancing Participatory Democracy and Citizenship, in line with the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic. This civic process, launched by the Municipality of Peniche in January 2017, enabled residents, natives, workers, and students of the municipality to submit projects for local implementation.
The projects presented covered areas such as sports, recreation and leisure, environmental protection, nature conservation, and urban requalification. The Municipality allocated a budget of €30,000 for the realization of the most voted proposals.
The following projects were approved within the defined budget:
Creation of a Dog Park in the Urban Park of Peniche City, with an estimated budget of €7,500.
