The Municipality of Marinha Grande has been awarded the «Exemplary Water Quality for Human Consumption» seal by ERSAR, recognizing its high standards in public water supply.

The Marinha Grande Municipal Council received the «Exemplary Water Quality for Human Consumption» seal in Guimarães. The distinction, awarded by the Water and Waste Services Regulatory Entity (ERSAR), celebrates management entities that maintain a high level of quality in the supply of drinking water to the public.
The award ceremony took place at the Vila Flor Cultural Center on October 14th, as part of SENAG 2026 – the National Wastewater Seminar, organized by APDA. The certificate was received by the vice-president of the Municipal Council, Armando Constâncio.
Constâncio highlighted that the distinction "is a recognition of the daily work carried out by the municipal services to guarantee the population a safe, reliable, and high-quality water supply." He also emphasized "technical rigor, team competence, and continuous investment in the management and monitoring of the supply system" as factors demonstrating the "Municipality's commitment to excellence in public service".
The seal, created by ERSAR in 2009, recognizes management entities that meet rigorous control and monitoring criteria. Requirements include timely submission of the Water Quality Control Program (PCQA), completion of 100% of planned analyses, and compliance with at least 99% of parametric values, including microbiological parameters such as coliforms and Escherichia coli.
In 2026, ERSAR granted this seal to 56 management entities nationwide, attesting to the quality of the water supplied and the service provided to users.
