The Ansião Municipal Market hosted the "From Market to Table" showcooking on Saturday, the 17th, marking the end of the Food Week, which began on October 12th.

The event, held in the morning, aimed to promote healthy eating, with a special focus on the school community and the participation of the mascot VITA the pea. The initiative included various activities throughout the week, culminating in this event.
The showcooking was led by Chef Maria Caldeira de Sousa, assisted by two students from the catering area of the Escola Tecnológica e Profissional de Sicó. Ingredients such as persimmon, black pudding, corn, and pomegranate were prepared and tasted on-site.
Two dishes were presented: Chickpea "Migas" with sausages, cockles, and sautéed cabbage as the main course, and Chickpea semolina porridge with heather honey syrup, persimmon, and pomegranate as dessert.
The event was attended by the Mayor of Ansião, Jorge Cancelinha, and the Councillor for Education, Maria Goreti Correia. The initiative attracted curious onlookers and was part of the Intercultural Market, anticipating the Municipal Day for Equality.
The invitation to taste the dishes was accepted by weekly shoppers, merchants, and participants of the Intercultural Market, before the winter break.
