The village of Prados, in Celorico da Beira, will host another edition of the Chestnut Festival on November 7th and 8th, celebrating the indigenous product of Serra da Estrela.

The highest village in the municipality of Celorico da Beira, Prados, will be the stage for another edition of the Chestnut Festival on November 7th and 8th. The event aims to exalt, value, and promote the chestnut, an excellent indigenous product and one of the greatest riches of Celorico's gastronomic heritage, mostly of the longal variety.
Organized by the Parish Council of Prados, the Municipality of Celorico da Beira, and the Association of the Mountain Villages Network, the festival presents a varied program, highlighting gastronomic moments such as a showcooking with Chef Rui Cerveira, a community lunch, the "Autumn Flavors" convivial dinner, and magustos. The preparation of chestnuts, in association with autumn products like mushrooms, promises unique delicacies.
Musical entertainment includes concerts by Duo – Raquel & Rodrigo, Duo Bella Ciao-Traditional Dances, and Liliana Oliveira. There will also be street entertainment, the PR12-CLB – “Trilho da Serra da Lomba” walk, a mycological tour, the Mercadinho D’aldeia (village market), and the "Best Chestnut Dessert" contest. A technical session on diseases affecting chestnut trees, led by Eng. Joaquim Almeida, completes the offerings.
The event invites visitors to Prados to enjoy the delicacies, the festive atmosphere, and the region's autumn landscapes.
