The former Primary School of Lamegal hosted the meeting of the Pinhel Municipal Executive on October 15th. The session, attended by the President of the Parish Council, Marco Pereira, and several residents, was part of the ongoing decentralized meeting schedule.
A key item on the agenda was the unanimous approval of a Motion of Condolence, presented by the Mayor of Pinhel, Daniela Capelo, following the passing of Anabela Pereira de Miranda, former President of the Valbom Parish Council and a member of the Pinhel Municipal Assembly. A Motion of Condolence was also approved for the death of José Caetano Dâmaso, former President of the Parish Councils of Pereiro and Alto do Palurdo.
In recognition of the Pinhel Volunteer Firefighters, who are nearing their 120th anniversary of service, the Municipal Council proposed, and the Executive unanimously approved, a Motion of Praise and the awarding of the Municipal Merit Medal. These honors will be presented at a public ceremony later in October.
Furthermore, a draft municipal regulation establishing social benefits for the Pinhel Volunteer Firefighters was unanimously approved. This regulation aims to recognize and encourage the firefighters' commitment and dedication, and will now undergo public consultation.
To boost traditional commerce during the upcoming Christmas season, the Municipality, in partnership with NERGA – Business Association and local businesses, will organize a Window Display Contest and a voucher prize draw. Further details on these initiatives will be released in due course.
The next Municipal Council meeting is scheduled to take place in Pinhel on October 29th, at 9:30 AM.
