The Municipality of Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo hosted the 10th Technical Coordination Meeting of the IBERUS Smart Digital Cross-border Community project, held on September 29th at the Interpretive Center of the Battle of Castelo Rodrigo. This was followed today by the Cross-border Forum.
The opening session was attended by the Vice-President of the Municipal Chamber, Alfeu Nascimento, who welcomed the representatives of the partner entities.
These initiatives are part of the European project IBERUS – Smart CDT, which lasts for three years and aims to strengthen a collaboration network between local administrations on both sides of the border. For Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, the project has enabled the acquisition of smart meters and their respective software, as well as cybersecurity software, contributing to the modernization and digital transformation of municipal services.
Representatives from the Municipalities of Sabugal, Almeida, Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, and Penamacor, the Diputación and Junta de Valladolid, the Junta de Ponferrada, as well as REGTSA, participated in the meetings.
The program also included visits to various points of interest within the municipality, allowing participants to gain a better understanding of the host territory.
