An initiative by a group of citizens, with the support of the Parish Council of São Bartolomeu de Messines, promoted a cleanup walk last Sunday morning in Passadeiras. The activity brought together about 40 people of various ages, aiming to combine a love for walking with the cleaning of a natural space in the parish.
During the morning, approximately 300 kg of trash were collected, including bottles, cigarette butts, bottle caps, plastics, and other items. The waste was subsequently collected by the Parish Council staff.
Mid-morning, participants enjoyed a small snack offered by the Council, consisting of water, bananas, pears, plums, and biscuits, which fostered a pleasant gathering.
The Parish Council thanked the citizens for their initiative, everyone for their participation, Mr. Vitalino, and the staff members Paulo, João, and António for their availability and help in collecting the trash.
