In a municipality with high tourist activity and a seasonal population increase, this new resource aims to optimize the response to help requests.
At the presentation ceremony, Paulo Afonso, president of the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Albufeira, thanked the operational staff for their dedication and recalled recent difficulties. He highlighted the work of the emergency teams and the firefighters' readiness for DECIR 2026. Afonso emphasized the importance of investing in people and equipment to improve working conditions and ensure public safety, thanking the Albufeira Municipal Chamber and the Fernando Barata hotel group for their support.
The Mayor of Albufeira, Rui Cristina, accompanied by Deputy Mayor Jorge Carmo and Councillor Maria Cristina Corado, thanked the operational staff for their efforts and recalled the acquisition of three new vehicles in August.
“

"I thank the Albufeira firefighters for the work and availability they have shown during these very demanding months. This ambulance joins the three vehicles acquired in August and gives the corps more resources to respond to the emergencies of those who live and visit the municipality."
