The formalization of this partnership took place on September 27th, during a morning of sports activities marking the European Week of Sport. The new centre, part of the National Walking and Running Programme, will offer guided walking and running sessions, adapted to different fitness levels, aiming to encourage regular physical exercise and the adoption of healthier lifestyles.
The ceremony was attended by the Mayor, Ricardo Videira, and Councillor Sofia Batista. The sports and social event brought together approximately 170 participants of all ages.
A four-kilometre walk through the countryside attracted about a hundred participants, while younger attendees enjoyed fun and motor challenges organized by the AJL, including obstacle races, sprints, and throws.
The organization of such initiatives, along with the creation of the Walking and Running Centre, underscores the Municipality's commitment to creating opportunities for people of all ages to integrate physical activity into their daily lives and maintain an active lifestyle.
