From October 12th to 20th, the Casa do Povo de Canaviais is participating in the Focus Week Against Poverty 2026. This national initiative seeks to raise community awareness about this reality, promoting reflection, participation, and the construction of a more just, inclusive, and supportive society.
Throughout the week, various activities will be organized to involve everyone in the cause. On October 12th, a common banner related to the theme will be created and displayed in a visible location to give voice to the cause.
October 16th will be marked by White Day, inviting the entire community to wear a white item of clothing as a symbol of unity in the fight against poverty. On the same day, the artistic and participatory installation 'The key is in you' will be presented, where a door symbolizes opportunities and each person is invited to write on a key what, in their opinion, can open doors to a better life.
The initiative emphasizes that the fight against poverty is everyone's responsibility and that change begins with each individual. The ultimate goal is to build a more supportive, inclusive community with opportunities for all.
