The Évora Municipal Assembly approved, by majority, budget reprogramming measures for the Requalification and Renaturalization of Rossio de S. Brás project, ensuring the project's continuity and its coordination with the European Capital of Culture 2027.

The second phase of the Rossio de S. Brás requalification work, funded 100% by the Environmental Fund, cannot be completed by the end of 2026 as planned. The need to meet administrative and legal deadlines, including prior scrutiny by the Court of Auditors, led to the presentation of two budget adjustment proposals.
According to the Mayor, these proposals will prevent the loss of funds allocated to the project and ensure the flexibility for the rehabilitation and renaturalization of Rossio de S. Brás to be carried out in coordination with the artistic project Floresta Nómada, part of the European Capital of Culture 2027 program.
The proposal to Amend the Multiannual Investment Plan for 2027, concerning the project, was approved by majority with 15 votes in favor (PS, MICAZA, and MCE) and 18 abstentions (AD – Évora Tem Mais Futuro, CDU, and Chega).
The prior authorization of expenses and the issuance of prior authorization for the assumption of multiannual commitments for the financial years 2026 and 2027 were approved by majority, with 21 votes in favor (PS, CDU, MCE, and MICAZA) and 12 abstentions (AD – Évora Tem Mais Futuro and Chega).
