The Estremoz Municipal Park has gained new life with the inauguration of the first phase of its redevelopment, an investment of approximately 430 thousand euros promoted by the Municipality of Estremoz.

The intervention, attended by the president of CCDR Alentejo, I.P., Ricardo Pinheiro, last Friday, October 17, included the installation of new fencing and access gates, the renovation of public lighting, improvements to paths and accessibility, and the construction of a new children's playground. The aim is to create better conditions for safety, comfort, and use for citizens.
Ricardo Pinheiro highlighted the role of investments like this in building more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient territories, simultaneously valuing environmental heritage and local community gathering spaces. The redevelopment also aims to enhance urban green spaces for the quality of life of the population and the sustainable development of territories.
During the ceremony, the second phase of the redevelopment, currently in preparation, was presented. This phase foresees the installation of an outdoor gym, a picnic area, sanitary facilities, the stabilization of existing paths, and the creation of a space for informal basketball practice.
In total, the two phases represent a significant investment in the recovery of the largest green space in Estremoz, progressively returning it to the population as a place for meeting, leisure, and intergenerational enjoyment.
