On October 9th, the Auditorium of the Junta de Freguesia of Santo António dos Olivais hosted an awareness event focused on the theme "Grief, Myths, and Truths". The initiative aimed to address a sensitive topic in a light and empathetic manner.
The session was led by Dr. Cristina Felizardo, a Researcher in Grief Education at the University of Aveiro. Her approach sought to demystify grief, showing that it is possible to discuss the subject with serenity, respect, joy, and empathy, without devaluing the inherent pain of the process.
The Parish Council expressed its gratitude to Dr. Felizardo for how she conducted the session, highlighting the delicacy and lightness in addressing such a sensitive subject.
