The proposal for the new public transport network, studied and prepared over recent months by the Municipality of Coimbra and SMTUC, with technical support from OPT – Optimização e Planeamento de Transportes, S.A., is now in the public participation phase. The aim is to gather input from those who live, work, study, and travel within the municipality to inform the development of the project.
The first session will take place this Friday, October 16th, at 09:30 AM, in the Salão Nobre dos Paços do Concelho. This session is aimed at the presidents of the Parish Councils and Unions and will include a presentation of the proposal, followed by a period for questions and contributions from parish representatives.
Three public participation sessions are planned, open to all interested parties, to be held in different areas of the municipality. Each session will focus specifically on the groups of routes planned for their respective territories.
Session 1, focusing on the Public Transport Network for the North and East zones, will be held on October 16th, between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, at EB 2,3 Rainha Santa Isabel. Session 2, for the South and West zones, will take place on October 17th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at EB 2,3 de Taveiro. Finally, Session 3, dedicated to the Central zone, will be held on the same day, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at the Mercado Municipal D. Pedro V.
Each session will begin with a presentation of the network proposal and will proceed with a collaborative dynamic, inviting participants to analyze the presented solutions, share their perspectives, and contribute to identifying specific needs in each territory.
Participation requires prior registration via an online form. The collected contributions will be subsequently systematized and considered in the technical development of the proposal, before the final definition of the SMTUC network restructuring.
