The equipment, valued at approximately 95,000 euros, was loaned by the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF) under a comodato agreement. The loan contract was signed by the Mayor of Arganil, Luís Paulo Costa, at a ceremony held in Tábua, attended by the Secretary of State for Forests, Rui Ladeiras.
The introduction of this new resource into the Municipality's service will allow for intensified verge clearing and road network maintenance. Furthermore, it will facilitate the implementation of fuel management strips (FGC), significantly contributing to the reduction of fuel load and, consequently, to the prevention of rural fire risk.
This reinforcement of resources represents an important step towards more effective territorial management. With improved conditions for caring for municipal paths and roads, the Municipality of Arganil strengthens its rural fire prevention efforts, aiming to protect its population and territory.
